Just to warn you, this is my first blog entry. I am not sure anyone will read it, because after all, "words do not matter" according to SOME politicians. (wink)
Ever since this political season has really heated up, I am becoming MORE and MORE disturbed by the use of the image of Osama bin Laden being linked to the image of Senator Barack Obama, who is also a presidential candidate. Not only do I find it to be poor journalism, but very unpatriotic of the media.
As most people know, bin Laden is a known terrorists, who is responsible for thousands of Americans dying in 9/11...also, he is STILL out there on the loose!! So, how can NEWS outlets, such as MSNBC, CNN, ABC and FOX get away with consistently making "mistakes" and "jokes" when using these two images together?
I believe it mocks and disrespects, not just Sen. Obama and his public service as an elected official in the U.S. Senate, but it also very disrespectful of the memory and legacy of the victims that died in 9/11.
Is anyone as offended as I am about these "jokes" or "accidents"? I mean seriously, for the level of that horrific day and the tragedy that ensued afterwards, how is it acceptable for supposed "fair and objective"news outlets to be so careless and flippant with the use of bin laden's image?
CNN holds themselves out as "most trust media" or something to that extent. It is not like we are tuning into Saturday Night Live, Mad TV, Jay Leno, etc... Some people rely on these journalist to actually report the facts!!
Those networks news shows are suppose to be objective, reliable and credible news sources, how can we trust them?

Thank goodness for this website!!
As some politicians who say "words do not matter" or whatever, know damn well they do. This is why she makes the attacks that she does, but I digress...
